Early symptoms of breast cancer show no major outward signs, and it could not be seen or felt. If the symptoms are present, the most common ones are lumps, an area of thickening or hardening, or a dimple can be found on the breast. Nipple changes and cysts are also early symptoms. The less common symptoms would be swelling or the breasts or redness and a noticeably enlarged underarm lymph node.
If a woman feels one or more of these symptoms, one should not be alarmed. This does not necessarily conclude that one has breast cancer. Most breast lumps in the end, can be diagnosed as benign or not cancerous. There is an urgency to see the physician right away if there is a feeling that one has breast cancer. This will give the women a peace of mind when they have seen their physician, and if there is a diagnosis, they would be able to take care of this quickly.
Self physical examination is also one way to examine for carcinoma.
TNM stages 1, 2 and 3a are the earlier breast cancer stages. This grading system correspond to how far the carcinoma (another term for cancer) has progressed. These stages will also determine whether tumors are present or can be operated.
Nowadays, with modern science a major count of breast cancer cases are healed through either radiation therapy, surgery, systemic therapy or even the combination of these three. These procedures had saved a great number of lives. That is why seeing a physician comes highly recommended if there are early detections of these symptoms.
