Breast Cancer Awareness Fragrance Spotlight

    By Wendy L. Maxey

In October we highlighted fragrances that participate in Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Proceeds from the purchases of these fragrances went toward research to help find a cure for breast cancer.

Kim Kardashian is supporting breast cancer efforts with her new signature fragrance rollerball. Kardashian held a contest earlier this year in search of a designer to create the packaging for her fragrance, which will be revealed today. Kardashian's woody, sweet floral rollerball perfume can be found at Sephora, and 10 percent of all proceeds will benefit the Young Survival Coalition, which supports young women who are diagnosed with this terrible disease.

Annick Goutal's Rose So Chic collection includes Rose Splendide, Rose Absolue and Quel Amour! Between now and Oct. 31, 2010, if you purchase one of these fragrances, the design house will donate roughly $6 or 5 euros to cancer research. These donations are in memory of Goutal, who died of the disease in 1999.

Another fragrance line is Jo Malone Red Roses collection, which combines a variety of seven different roses worldwide. At its heart is crushed violet with hints of lemon and spearmint. Red Roses is a fragrance delight. Jo Malone will donate $20,000 from sales of Red Roses products to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

DKNY has developed a line of travel-size bottles of its DKNY Be Delicious Fresh Blossom fragrances. Fresh Blossom is fresh and vibrant, perfect for women of confidence who enjoy the innocence of a floral scent, but also want to exude sensuality. DKNY will make a donation of $15,000 in connection with the sales of DKNY Be Delicious/Fresh Blossom Coffret to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. You can purchase the fragrances online or at participating department stores.

Other fragrances include Melange Floral Solid Perfume, Estee Lauder Beautiful Eau de Parfum, Aphrodisiac Lumar Beverly Hills, Antica Farmcista Home Fragrances, Sweet Grass Farm Fragrance Sticks and DKNY Cashmere Mist.
